Equality
What about Men?
I’m sure I may have suprised you - you may have stumbled into this page thinking that I was gung-ho about equality for women, or the elderly, or animals, or the different races of humankind. Instead, you are entering the myriad of feelings and principals that I believe are happening in the world today for the male gender. And, to get it right - I am specifically talking about the average white male ‘out there’.
For years and years, decades upon decades, women have been screaming for equality in the workplace, equality in colleges, in pay scales and in everything from housework to corporate ownerships. However - when does it stop? While women scream and bitch about it, men get pushed further and further down the ladder until they are fighting for their rights as MEN!
Some folks, depending on their ages, maybe recall when in South Carolina, USA, a young female ‘wannabe’ cadet applied, was rejected, and then demanded to be permitted entry into a Military Academy - taking the Academy to court to ‘win her case’. And, we’ve all read from time to time career-minded, high-powered females who “demand” that they be “allowed” to enter the all male clubs, clubs that have been around for decades - catering to the male gender. Now, suppose the tables were turned… what would happen if MEN decided to say ‘enough is enough’ and demanded entry into all women’s colleges, or women’s support groups - believe me, I already envisioned it!
There would be more screaming, whining, bitching and crying about “this is a WOMANS group”! And you want equality? Please! Simply put ladies - if you are going to cry for equality for yourselves, then expect to open YOUR doors for the men.
Think about the groups you are in now ladies…. if you find you enjoy the exclusive company of females, why is it wrong for men to enjoy THEIR own comradrie?
What is good for the goose…
For several years, women sportscasters have been permitted entry into men’s locker rooms ‘after the game’ to interview rising young stars, cash - or crash in on their locker room parties and jubilent behaviors… but, tell me - when was the last time you saw a male sportscaster in a women’s locker room? *Gasp*
And you want equality?
Have you ever noticed, that whenever a crime is committed, if a man commits the crime - let’s say for example murder of his spouse - he will ultimately be sentenced for many years. However, if a woman commits the SAME crime, the SAME way, the jury will feel “bad” for her and give her a lighter sentence!
Typical example.. oh, I don’t know how many years ago, but in Texas, USA a woman was found guilty for the murder of her husband (captured on videotape) by running over him - not once, not twice, but three times - all because her husband was having an affair and going to end the marriage! Okay, so she got 20 years! Big deal! Now, suppose a man did the same thing.. do you really believe that he would get ONLY 20 years? Think again folks. Most likely he would be sentenced to life. So - why didn’t Ms. Harris receive life? Pity? Sympathy because she is a woman and mother? So what! If she committed the crime - and she was found guilty - then she should receive the SAME sentence that a man would. Plain and simple. Get over the tears lady. You did it, you pay for it.
More recently there have been a tremendous amount of “Teacher Seduces Student” articles appearing nationwide. Guess what? It’s the FEMALE teachers who are abusing their male students! AND, to top it off, these so-called “women” get a f’ing slap on the wrist! JUST TODAY I saw in the paper where a MAN was convicted to SIXTEEN FRICKIN YEARS and in the same breath (but different state in the good ole USofA), a WOMAN gets a mere 18 months in the slammer! AND, you call THAT “equality”?
In addition, think about child abuse. How often do we hear of the father and the mother abusing the child! How often do we see that the boyfriend abuses the child while the mother knows about it and does nothing? The boyfriend or father is arrested, and charged with abuse… but, the mother isn’t? Is this equality? I don’t think so! If the woman does absolutely nothing, and is a part of the abuse, she needs to be sentenced to the same crime, the same way, and live with it. SHE made the choice!
Equality my big toe.
Why are we as a society not facing up to this and gathering our voices to say that it is wrong?
We ask so much of our men ladies. We want them to be open and communicate. We want them to be strong and supportive of our endeavors. We want them to help around the house, and with the children. We want, we want, we want.. but, when is it time for us, as females to finally realize that to get our equality - we must also have to open our doors? It is only when we stop fighting with each other over being “equal”, that we will come to terms with each other, and real equality will happen.
